Control Union Philippines Holds PCQI Training

A Preventive Controls Qualified Individual Training was held in Davao, Philippines last May 8-10, 2018. Primarily initiated to provide added value service to the existing food safety and organic partners of Control Union Philippines, the activity aimed at facilitating understanding to the recently enacted Food Safety Modernization Act of the USFDA.
The United States of America remains among the top export markets of the country for agriculture-based products such as coconut, pineapple and banana which deemed it necessary for a PCQI program for local exporters.

There has been limited offerings of the course in the country and other companies have to seek trainings overseas, incurring more costs. In partnership with Control Union North America, a total of 40 attendees from various top companies in the country were trained. They attendees are involved in the production of coconut and coconut byproducts, dried fruits and purees, bakery items, fresh and canned seafoods.
