[FREE WEBINAR] Biofuel Certification to the EU: Existing and New Regulations on EU and EU Member State Level, 10 December 2020

If one thing is certain in bio-energy compliance schemes, it is that they are constantly subject to change. Is it not in the change of the requirements, than it is caused by increasing mandates or shifts in incentive for specific raw materials.

This webinar will give an overview on some of the developments in the recent past, and what can be expected in the future. This will include insights on the transition from the EU RED to the EU RED II, and how EU member states alongside with the voluntary schemes such as ISCC will prepare on this, and how this can affect currently certified companies. Especially regarding the future of palm as feedstock in bioenergy for the EU, some attention will be given to the additional option of certifying a low-ILUC risk claim as currently proposed by the EU commission.

Furthermore, the landscape of bio-energy certifications will be explored, including the following schemes:

  • ISCC
  • Dutch Double Counting
  • Italian National Scheme
  • Sustainable Biomass Program
  • Green Gold Label
